Meaning of the Title "Bleach"

A lot of people don't know the meaning of the title "Bleach" Some have even watched the entire series so far without asking. The explanation for Tite Kubo's choice of a name is simple.
Each Shinigami in the series possesses a sword known as a zanpakuto. Each of these swords are created from the individual souls of the Shinigami. The main purpose of a Shinigami is to perform Konsu (Soul Burial) and purify the souls of Hollows.
The zanpakutos work by slashing a Hollow and reverting it back to its original form; the form they appeared as directly after death. The purification relates to bleach in the sense that bleach purifies and "erases" all "stains". A Hollow's "stains" are the crimes they have committed after death. They can be cured of these "stains" and possibly go to the Soul Society after Konsu is performed. If they have committed sins before death, they may still go to Hell.
In conclusion, the name symbolizes the purification of a soul such as bleach erases stains.
